During the pandemic, I noticed how much waste I was generating, with eating every meal at home in lockdown, so started to experiment with the skins and leftovers of various food items to see if they could be used to create natural dyes for fabric.
I wanted to create something that was both eco-friendly, beautiful and useful and so VED COOKS was born as a sustainable homeware brand.
All the linens are handmade, cut and frayed. I use the best naturally dyed 100% Irish linen and each batch is hand dyed in small batches in my kitchen. The range of colours are influenced by seasonal foods.
